Are you open for submissions?
You can learn everything about our submission on our Oleada page.
Are you looking for interns right now?
Unfortunately, we are not. If this changes in the future we will make an announcement on social media.
What books of your should I read to get an idea of what to publish?
We love all of the books that we have published, and they are all a little different. Please check out our catalog to get a sense of what we publish. If you haven’t read any of our books, you may want to consider why you want to send us your work.
What do you consider to be ‘Full Length’?
We only publish full length work. Does it fill an entire book? Then it is full length. Because we often publish books that are image-oriented we don’t have any hard restrictions on word count.
Manuscripts that come in under 40 pages or over ~600 pages will have to be truly extraordinary to be seriously considered. We do not publish single short stories or poems (you will want to send work of this length to magazines or journals).
Do you publish memoirs/poems about turtles/genre X/Y/Z?
Make sure you understand the kind of work we have published in the past.
All of the work we have published in the past can be classed as either ‘experimental’ or ‘innovative’. If these words do not describe a work then we are unlikely to publish it.
We are not averse to work that contains genre or speculative elements, but have not published a traditional, ‘straight’ sci-fi, fantasy or horror work in the past and are very unlikely to do so in the future.
YA, Romance, Erotic, Children’s fiction and works of a mainstream spiritual nature, including inspirational and Christian fiction, will find a better home at another press.
Do you pay your authors?
Yes, and we will never ask our authors to pay a cent, a practice which we consider to be abusive.
All works that we publish will get professional layout and cover art (if applicable) as well as professional editing, copyediting, promotion and marketing services. We believe in the artistic vision of the author and prefer to work together to achieve the published work, rather than impose what we think needs to be done.
While we do not pay an advance we split all profits 50/50 with our authors and offer authors a 50% discount on copies of their book in case they want to sell copies themselves.
I need to tell you something about the manuscript I want to submit, where do I do that?
Put any remarks about a manuscript into the cover letter. We’re all writers ourselves and understand how messy the submission process can be. Please don’t send remarks in the contact form, as it will be hard to connect your e-mail (we receive many of these) with your submission (we also receive many of these).
