11.   Join Our Street Team
Punk might not be the best word to describe what we’re doing, because it’s what every small grassroots movement has done. We don’t like to see ourselves as a publisher, but rather, as an extension of the community who provides a platform for writers willing to take risks in their art. Our goals are simple: 1) We want to publish new types of stories because we believe the world needs more than the same-old Hero’s journey, 2) We want to engage with the growing community of authors, readers, and publishers (yes, publishers – we are a community, this is not a competition) who are pushing back against big publishing and easy-bake oven recipe books (aka brainrot), and 3) We don’t want to go bankrupt. We pay our authors fairly and continue to reinvest profits into future titles; no one at 11:11 has taken home a paycheck. If you like what we’re doing and want to help spread the message, email us at 1111 (at) 1111press.com. We don’t have a whole lot of resources right now, but if you help us, we’d love to thank you with books, shirts, stickers, and whatever else we can slap our logo on. We’d love your help spreading our mission (and books) to your local library, bookstore, book club, college campus, newspaper, zine, underground newspaper, tattoo shop, podcast, and wherever else you think we should be.
