11/12/2020 // Day 2: Dylan Krieger’s Soft-Focus Slaughterhouse Cover Reveal
Earlier this year, we announced our project with Dylan Krieger, a poetry collected titled: Soft-Focus Slaughterhouse.
We are excited to officially release the cover designed by none other than Gut Text author Mike Corrao.
Who is Dylan Krieger?
Dylan Krieger is writing the apocalypse in real time in south Louisiana. She earned her BA in English and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and her MFA in creative writing from LSU. Her first book, Giving Godhead (Delete, 2017), was dubbed "the best collection of poetry to appear in English in 2017" by the New York Times Book Review. She is also the author of Dreamland Trash (Saint Julian, 2018), No Ledge Left to Love (Ping Pong, 2018), The Mother Wart (Vegetarian Alcoholic, 2019), Metamortuary (Nine Mile, 2020), and, of course, Soft-Focus Slaughterhouse (11:11, forthcoming). Ok, but who IS Dylan Krieger? Really?
Dylan is always working on something that is radically ahead of her peers, and holds her own in a publishing space that is (unfortunately) male dominated.
One of my favorite books is No Ledge Left to Love, a collection where each poem grapples with a philosophical problem. In 2017, it won the annual book contest of the Henry Miller Memorial Library and was published by their imprint Ping Pong Free Press the following year.
In addition to books, Dylan has published broadsides, t-shirts, and just last month released a 7-inch vinyl record of spoken word poetry with Fine Print Press.
Wow, Dylan sounds awesome!
She is! And you can follow all her updates on Twitter and Instagram. You’ll need to request permission to follow, and I’m confident she’ll let you in and maybe even follow back ;-)
